Juanita Rasberry Petty, longtime resident of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Sunday, November 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Okeena Health and Rehabilitation of Dyersburg in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Sunday, September 11, 1938, in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late E. F. "Buck" Crawford and the late Mary Knight Crawford Ferguson.
She was a loving mother who cherished the times spent with her family, especially her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Throughout her life, she was known for her dedication, kindness, and care for others. She enjoyed quilting and could often be found watching the hummingbirds that visited her yard. Her kind and gentle spirit, sweet smile, and infectious laughter will be remembered by all who knew her.
Juanita was also a former Girl Scout leader and served for many years as Cookie Drive Chairman. During that time, it was said that if you passed by her home, you could see boxes of cookies filling her carport with just enough room for a path through them.
Juanita was a devoted member of Newbern First Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as Nursery Director for many years and was deeply committed to the children and youth of the church.
Graveside services for Mrs. Petty will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Mr. David Adcock. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
