Joshua Riley "Josh" Parks

Joshua Riley "Josh" Parks, 44, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Thursday, December 17, 1981, in Union City, Tennessee, he was the son of Johnny Parks (Janice) and Joy Berry O'Neal (Ernie).

Josh will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the joy he found in life’s simple moments. Josh enjoyed landscaping and took pride in working outdoors, where he felt most at peace. He loved being around his friends and cherished the companionship they shared.

Josh was an animal lover, especially devoted to his dogs and his chickens, which brought him great happiness and comfort. Family meant everything to him, and the time he spent with them was truly special. He especially enjoyed playing Zilch with his family, where countless hours of laughter, fun, and unforgettable memories were made.

Some of Josh’s favorite moments were spent at his MeMaw’s house, watching scary movies and sharing popcorn—times that will forever be treasured by those who loved him.

A Celebration of life service for Josh will be held at a later date.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Joy and Ernie O'Neal of Alamo, Tennessee and Johnny and Janice Parks of Newbern, Tennessee; one  brother, John William "Will" Parks of Newbern, Tennessee and three sisters, Whitney Elrod (Randall) of Bells, Tennessee, Angela Rood (Kenny) of Friendship, Tennessee and Jessica Raney Orr (Tyler) of Newbern, Tennessee and a host of extended family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Marie Berry and Bill and Geraldine Parks.
