John Healton Obituary

John Lanny Healton, 74, of Tiptonville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Reelfoot Manor in Tiptonville.

Born on June 18, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late John W. Healton, Sr. and the late Beidleman Healton.

Mr. Healton proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.  Following his military service, he later worked for many years in the parts department at Garcia Honda in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

A man of deep faith, Mr. Healton was an active member of the Baptist Church. John was a man of faith who loved God deeply and volunteered at his church every day until his helath no longer allowed it. He had a passion for writing and found great joy in creating children's stories, especially for his step-grandchildren. Through his stories, he shared his imagination, wisdom, and love with those closest to him. He treasured times spent with friends. John will be remembered as a kind god-hearted man.
