Jo Frances Cathey

Jo Frances Cathey, 80, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Thursday, November 9, 2023, her residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born August 17, 1943, in Rives, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Bill Griffin and the late Minnie Lee Crowell Griffin. Mrs. Cathey was a former caregiver, employee of Sylvania, and worked for the Dyer County School System at the RoEllen School. The times that she cherished the most were those spent with her family.

Graveside services for Mrs. Cathey will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jeff Hall. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Richard Montgomery Cathey (Denise) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, one daughter, Tina Cathey Jones of Dyersburg, Tennessee; she was "Nana" to her two grandchildren, Garrett Cathey (Anna) and Trevor Jones (Jennifer) and two great grandchildren, Lera Renee Cathey, and Caden Robert Jones. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Cathey and one brother, Billy Richard Griffin. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Cathey, Trevor Jones, Jeff Box and Gary Box.
