Jo Ann Flack McCanless

JoAnn Flack McCanless, 86, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, July 17, 1934 in Newbern, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Flack and the late Frankie Griffin  Flack. She was a retired employee of Sylvania and Wal-Mart.  Mrs. McCanless was a member of East Dyersburg United Methodist Church.

Due to the current pandemic and the family's concern for the health and well being of others, the family has requested that mask be worn by those in attendance at the visitation and funeral service.  Graveside services for Mrs. McCanless will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Officiating this service will be Pastor David Richards. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Ronnie McCanless (Patricia) of Newbern, Tennessee; two daughters, Seneca Leonard of Elkin, North Carolina and Debra McCanless of Memphis, Tennessee; she was "JoJo" to her six grandchildren, Stacy Gray (Greg), Kelley McCoy (Shane), William McCanless, Peter Dale (Katie), Brianna Leonard (Jesse) and Cayla Leonard; five great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Doss, Baylee McCoy, Cady Spry, A. J. Dale and Lucas Richardson and two special nieces, Barbara Evans Drawz and Vickie Porch Crenshaw.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean McCanless; two  brothers, Bryce Flack and Calvin Flack, one sister, Martha Haynes and one grand-daughter, Ashley Millner.

Honoring Mrs. McCanless as pallbearers will be Will McCanless, Greg Gray, Shane Spry, Peter Dale, Randall Crenshaw and Ashtyn Doss.
