Jim Wilson, 74 of Obion, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Born February 3, 1947 in Dyersburg, Tenn., he was the son of the late Basil Garrett Wilson and the late Eunice Etaw Morgan Wilson. He was a retired employee of AT&T/Bell South, former member of the Communications Workers of American union and former member of the VFW. Mr. Wilson proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Henson officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery in the Cloverdale community (Obion, Tenn.). Visitation will be Saturday 2:00 — 4:00 p.m. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-four years, Dinna Bradshaw Wilson of Obion; two sons, Jimi Wilson of Dyersburg and Johnny Wilson of Dyersburg; one daughter, Heather Wilson of Memphis; one brother, Basil "Buzz" Wilson of Ridgely; one sister, Judy Pierce of Ridgely; and two grandchildren, Joshua Wilson and Phoebe Wilson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Anita Fisher.
Honoring Mr. Wilson as pallbearers will be Bruce Hayes, Jr., John Hicks,III, Scott Kolwyck, Bill Lindau, Nick Lindau and James Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Cherry, Finis Joyce, Bubba Henson, Jeffrey Langston, Jason Lewis, Gary Lynxwiler, Sid Pollack, Fred Sternquist and Cy Washer.
