Jessie Genettie Cowart Ray

Jessie Genettie Cowart Ray, 82 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Dyersburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, January 15, 1936 in Belmont, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late George Berry Cowart and the late Jessie Bell Marbutt Cowart. She was a retired employee of C. S. Patterson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ray will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Elder Harold Roddy. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Pamela Stephens of Lebanon, Tennessee; one brother, Dock Cowart of Springville,Tennesssee; three sisters, Shirley Autry (Thomas) of Newbern, Tennessee, Edith Kincaid (David) of Valpariso, Indiana and Ollie Hopkins of Newbern, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Lindsey Teague, Jacquelyn Stephens and Zachary Stephens and three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Stephens, Khloey Stephens and Jack Brian Stephens.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Leigh Ann Teague; three brothers, Dennis Cowart, Charlie Cowart and Bill Cowart and two sisters, Estelle Griffin and Mozelle Pope.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Cowart, Mike Cowart, Greg Donaldson, Mark Pope, David Autry, Thomas Autry and Danny Cowart.
