Jerry Lynn Taylor, Sr.

Jerry Lynn Taylor, Sr., 68, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Friday, November 19, 1954, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Sylvester Taylor and the late William B. Permenter , who raised him,and the late Inez Wilson  Permenter. 

Mr. Taylor was a retired forklift operator for Quebecor and he proudly served his country in the United  States Army. Mr. Taylor attended Our Little Country Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Royce McGuire and Bro. Tommy Roper. Interment will follow in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his life long companion, Susan Thompson Fuller of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one son, Jerry Taylor, Jr. of Ohio; his step-son, William Fuller of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter, Tabitha Taylor of Ohio; one brother, Douglas Permenter of Halls, Tennessee; one sister, Lydia Shelton (Graylon) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; he was "PopPop", "DAH" and Grand-daddy to  his seven grandchildren and he leaves a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Delois Douglas, Judy Tucker, Lexi Thompson and Debbie Permenter and one brother, Sherman Taylor.

Honoring Mr. Taylor as pallbearers will be Tyler Webb, Jeremy Lynn Ables, Tommy Warden, Jeff Warden, Justin Ables and Noah Stuart. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Summers and Steven Eaves.
