Janie Littleton Gregson

Janie Littleton Gregson, 79, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Okeena Health and Rehabilitation of Dyersburg in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Janie was a beloved member of the Dyer County Community.  She was known for her kind and gentle spirit, always greeting others with her sweet smile. 

Born on January 5, 1946, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ray Franklin Littleton and the late Christine Robertson Littleton.

Janie graduated from Newbern High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin, before dedicating forty-two years of service to the Dyer County Property Assessor's office. Her commitment and dedication led her to serve as the Dyer County Property Assessor for part of that time, where she worked tirelessly for the community she loved.

For several years she served as coordinator of the Moody-Wadley Cancer Benefit and remained an avid supporter of the Dyer County Community Cancer Fund; helping those affected by cancer was a true reflection of her compassionate and selfless nature.   Janie had a green thumb as evidenced by the beautiful flowers that surrounded her home. She was a dedicated member of Dyersburg First Baptist Church.  

Above all she loved her family.  The times that they shared were filled with joy and those memories will be cherished forever. She was always there to provide love and encouragement.

Graveside services for Mrs. Gregson will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Mike Hickman. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband, whom she married on March 16, 1968, Don Gregson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sons, David Bryan Gregson (Tiffany) of  Woodstock, Georgia and Devon Todd Gregson (Amy) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Rita Faye Littleton Guldswog (Don) of Newbern, Tennessee; cherished friend, Regina Gregson of Dyersburg, Tennessee and she was "Nanna" to her three grandchildren, Ben Thomas Gregson, Mattie Elizabeth Gregson and Jake Holland Gregson.

The family ask that memorial contributions be directed to the Dyer County Community Cancer Fund, P. O. Box # 1055, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38025-1055.

Honoring Mrs. Gregson as pallbearers will be Tony Carson, Shannon Elliott, Chris Hamm, Ben Gregson, Jake Gregson and Ricky Littleton.
