Janet Mae Kerrick LaRose, 82, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born on July 7, 1942, In Royal Oak, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Kerrick and the late Marjorie Tennett Kerrick. Mrs. LaRose was a dedicated employee of General Motors in Michigan before moving to Tennessee. She later worked as a cosmetologist before going to work for the Dyersburg City School System where she worked in the cafeteria at Dyersburg Primary School for twenty-five years. She was a faithful member of Emmaus Baptist Church, serving as treasurer for many years.
Cremation services are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. LaRose will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Emmaus Baptist in Newbern, Tennessee, with Rev. James Hinkle officiating. A gathering of family and friends, for food and fellowship, will be held immediately after the Celebration of Life Service in the church fellowship hall.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Arthur E. LaRose, of Dyersburg, Tennessee. one son, Carl Charles LaRose, Jr. (Linda) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two daughters, Judy Stephens Martin (Curtis) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Carlene Diana Kay Maday (Mike) of Capac, Michigan, two sisters, Judy Waterstrat (Hank) of Lenoir, North Carolina and JoAnn Moretz (Ron) of Morganton, North Carolina; her beloved dogs and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, that she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death, by her husband of sixty-one years, Carl Charles LaRose, Sr.; one son Lloyd Lee LaRose; two sisters, Gerry Craighead and Marjorie Ward and one brother, Nicholas Kerrick.
The family asks that memorials be directed to Emmaus Baptist Church, 4480 Lanesferry Road, Newbern, Tennessee 38059.
