James "Jimmy" Epperson, Jr.,62, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Born on October 11, 1963, in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Epperson, Sr. and the late Bobbie Ruth Hollis Powers.
James was affectionately known as “Uncle Jimmy” to all who knew him. He enjoyed a good meal, and a steak was always his favorite. Known as a true workaholic, he was rarely idle and was always looking for something to do. James worked as a tire technician for many years at Triple T Tire, now known as Teel(le) Tire, where he was valued for his dependability and strong work ethic.
In his spare time, he found peace fishing at Reelfoot Lake, and during the years he lived in Florida, his favorite place to fish was Sanibel Island. One of his greatest pleasures was woodworking, and he took great pride in teaching this skill to his grandsons. He also enjoyed visiting flea markets. Above all, James loved his family deeply and was devoted to them.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Epperson will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Royce McGuire. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sarah Mace Jimenez of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sons, Russell Epperson (Misty) of Union City, Tennessee and Jamie Epperson of Perry, Florida, two sons by choice, Dustin Epperson of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Vinny Jimenez, Jr. of Madison, Florida; one brother, Bubba Epperson of Friendship, Tennessee; two sisters, Phyllis Ann "Sissy" Eaton (Johnny) of Union City, Tennessee and Jeannie Ramey of RoEllen, Tennessee; he was "Papa" to his six grandchildren, Gage, Aydan, Zachary, Russell, Buggs and Ava Marie and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members that he loved dearly.
