James E. Hunt

James E. Hunt, 92, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Monday, February 2, 1931 in Bogota, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Luther E. Hunt and the late Mildred Preslar  Hunt. Mr. Hunt was a retired tower operator for Conrail Railroad.  For many years, he and his family attended Bible Baptist Church in Knox, Indiana, where he served a deacon for many years. He loved all types of outdoor activities.

Funeral services for Mr. Hunt will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 8, 2023, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Mike Hickman. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of seventy-two years, Retha Kalberer Hunt of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one son, David Hunt (Tina) of Knox, Indiana; three daughters, Debra Hunt of Canyon Lake, Texas,  Sherry Wall of Winamac, Indiana and Susan Rae Hunt of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Shirley Nadean Faulkner of Trenton, Tennessee and he was "Grandpa" to David Lee, Oldwen, Rachel, Adam, Brandon and William James and his eight great-grandchildren.
