James Donald "Pops" Cornwell, Sr., 82 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Monday, June 5, 1939 in Marrow, Ohio, he was the son of the late Herbert Cornwell and the late Bessie Mae Doughman Cornwell.

Cremation services for Mr. Cornwall are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by two sons, James Donald Cornwell, Jr. and Terry Lee Cornwell both of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother, Raymond Cornwell of Ohio; one sister, Betty Swartz of Newtonville, Ohio and five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death, by one son, Anthony Dale Cornwell, one brother, Charles Cornwell and two sisters, Thelma Mae Loudermilk and Kate Loudermilk.
