Jackie Wade Stafford

Jackie Wade "Cat" Stafford, 57, of Lenox, Tennessee, died on Friday, December 19, 2025, at his residence in Lenox, Tennessee.
 

Born Tuesday, February 13, 1968 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late George Jack Stafford and the late Betty Autry Stafford.

Jackie had the gift of gab and truly never met a stranger. Known for his quick wit and clever comebacks, he could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them smiling. His outgoing nature and sense of humor were among his most cherished traits.

Family was at the heart of Jackie’s life. He worked alongside his parents and brother in the family business, Stafford’s Fish Market, where his presence was as much a part of the operation as the business itself. He took pride in working with his family and being part of something built together.

Jackie had a deep love for fishing—it didn’t matter where, as long as there was water and a line to cast. He was also a devoted sports fan, proudly cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, enjoying NASCAR, and remaining a lifelong Tennessee Volunteers fan, loyally supporting his team through every season.

Funeral services for Mr. Stafford will be at 12:00 PM on Monday December 22, 2025, at the Church Of Jesus Christ located at 120 Hamer Road, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024. Officiating this service will be Bro. Jerry Stafford and Bro. Mike Autry. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ located at 120 Hamer Road, Dyersburg, Tennessee.

He is survived by two daughters, Jaclyn Callahan (Logan) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Mary Jean Allen (Landon) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, Jerry Stafford (Kerri) of Lenox, Tennessee; one sister, Norma Bolin (Rick) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Sandy Stafford, lifelong friend and the mother of his children.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one  brother, Charles "Pogo" Stafford.

Honoring Mr. Stafford as pallbearers will be Keaton Stafford, Devin Bolin, Kelly Welch, Jordan Welch, Jeffrey Welch and Spencer Shanklin.
