Howard Frazier Rice Obituary

Howard Frazier Rice, 87, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at AHC of Dyersburg in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Thursday, February 2, 1933 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Walter Harrison Rice and the late Millie Douglas  Rice. Mr. Rice was a mail transporter for the United States Postal Service and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Rice was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Newbern, Tennessee.

Graveside services for Mr. Rice will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Phillip Senn. Visitation for Mr. Rice will be Friday from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Peggy Davis of Carrollton, Georgia.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, George Washington Rice, Douglas Rice, Alvin Rice and Edgar Rice and two sisters, Sudie Louise Oleson and Velma Hair.

Honoring Mr. Rice as pallbearers will be Brian Rice, Jon Gentry, Chris Davis, Ray Davis, Mike Douglas and Terry Taylor. Honorary pallbearer will be Rev. James Hooper.
