Heather Willene Slack, 36, of Newbern, Tennessee quietly passed from this life on Sunday, February 9, 2020, as her mother held her hand, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, Tennessee. As Heather's "Mr. B." stated, "Freed from her body with its many ailments and limitations, free from her wheelchair, free from ongoing treatments, sweet precious, innocent Heather was free! She knew no hatred, malice, evil, sin or anything else but in child-like mind blessed all who knew her, and made her own precious imprint on the world around her."
Heather was born February 25, 1983, to Rick and Patsy Murray Slack in Jackson, Tennessee. Ms. Slack faithfully attended the Main Street Church of Christ in Newbern, Tennessee, her whole life. She is survived by her mother, Patsy Murray Slack and Brian (Patsy's fiancé) Sullivan of Jordan, Ontario, Canada. She is also survived by Aunt Mary Louise (Rick) Marvin of Friendship, Tennessee; Aunt Linda (Said) Souki of California and Aunt Carol Slack of Jackson, Tennessee. Also surviving Heather are numerous great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins and family by choice; Sean, Jenny, Haylee and Hayden Sullivan of Paragould, Arkansas.
Heather was preceded in death by her father, Rick Slack; grandparents, Charles and Mary Bell Murray; grandparents Charles and Betty Slack.
Funeral services for Heather will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Sean Sullivan. Interment will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Honoring Heather as pallbearers will be Hayden Sullivan, Michael Marvin, Joey Murray, Tim Murray, Mike Murray, Rodney Travis and Hunter Grills. Honorary Pallbearers will be the men from Main Street Church of Christ.
