Harry Gene Rogers, 90, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Tuesday, November 21, 1933, in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Pat Rogers and the late Bobbie McDivitt Rogers. Mr. Rogers proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an independent truck driver and an avid NASCAR fan; Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver.
Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Edward Horner. Interment will follow at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, Tennessee. Visitation for Mr. Rogers will be from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty eight years, Cindy Rogers of Dyersburg, Tennessee; four sons, Tommy Rogers of Miston, Tennessee, Pat Rogers (Laura) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Eddie Rogers of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Jessie Rogers of Dyersburg, Tennessee; step-son, Danny Tippit (Shelly) of Tiptonville, Tennessee; sister-in-law by choice, Brenda Pruitt of Ridgely, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Buddy Clark of Laredo, Texas; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patti Rogers Clark.
Honoring Mr. Rogers as pallbearers will be Farron Stewart, D.J. Peery, Dale Peery, Gerald Canada, Danny Tippit and Scott Stanley. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Peery, Daren Hill, Bryan Avery, Jimmy Manns, Bill Markham, Jimmy Chamberlain, Ronnie Kuykendall, Johnnie Carson, Donnie Ketchum, and Anthony Ketchum.
