Harris "UG" Work, II, 62, of Tiptonville, Tennessee died on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Reelfoot Manor in Tiptonville, Tennessee.
Born Friday, August 2, 1963, he was the son of the late Harris Work, I, and the late Juanita Rose Brewer Work. Mr. Work was a former truck driver for Hart Transportation.
Harris found his greatest happiness in the people he loved. His family was the heart of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to show his pride, offer his support, or share a laugh that could fill a room. His kindness, steady presence, and easygoing nature made him someone others naturally gravitated toward.
When he wasn’t with family, you could almost always find him outdoors. Reelfoot Lake was his second home—a place where he felt closest to nature and most at peace. Whether he was casting a line at sunrise or settling into a quiet duck blind on a crisp morning, he treasured every moment spent hunting and fishing there. The stories he collected on those waters will be retold for generations.
Graveside services for Mr. Work will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak, Tennessee. Officiating the service will be Rev. Robert Davis. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Dustin Work of Tiptonville, Tennessee, two daughters, Whitney Johnson of Tiptonville, Tennessee and Vanessa Pope of Newbern, Tennessee, former wife, Stephanie Renie Work. He was "Pappy" to seven grandchildren, Anna Ray Kathryn Work, Madison-Claire Levon Work, McKenzie Estelle Johnson, Robert Luke Taylor Johnson, Parker Harris Ingle, Paislee Jo Pope, and Charli Elizabeth Pope; niece, Holly Sneed and nephew, Jason Watson and a host of great nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Honoring Mr. Work as pallbearers will be Dustin Work, Trey Burkett, Mitch Pope, Duane Hodge, Eric Mumford and Brent Work. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Johnson, Matthew Mumford and Parker Ingle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Trena Work Hall.
