Halum Earl Marlin, 93, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.
Born Friday, November 19, 1926 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Walter M. Marlin and the late Allie M. Merryman Marlin. Mr. Marlin was a farmer and former employee of Colonial Rubber. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Graveside services for Mr. Marlin will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Phillip Senn and Mr. David Via. Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of seventy-three years, Bonnie Ruth Hughey Marlin of Newbern, Tennessee; four daughters, Joan Marlin of Newbern, Tennessee; Judy Cobb (Danny) of Newbern, Tennessee and Jackie Butler of Newbern, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Tracey Reed (Gerald Canada), Scotty Healthcott (Christy), Richard Weatherly, II, Lora Fullbright (James), Brandy McCollum (John David), Jamie Neugebauer (Marty) Carin Nash (Jeremy Ables) and Tara Vick (Tyler); twelve great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Madilynn Ables; three brothers, John S. Marlin, Walter Marlin, Jr. and David B. Marlin and one sister, Opal Erline Marlin.
Honoring Mr. Marlin as pallbearers will be James Fullbright, John David McCollum, Tyler Vick, Jeremy Ables, Richard Weatherly, II. Marty Neugebauer, Tyler Webb and David Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Joe Maupin, Johnny Johnson, Lynn McDonald, David Via and Rad Crenshaw.
