Gerry Charles McGuire

Gerry Charles McGuire, 60 of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, December 9, 1964, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Lonzo Lonnie McGuire and the late Willie Dean Hill McGuire.

A lifelong resident of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Gerry was best known as the owner and operator of McGuire Plumbing, where he served the community with dedication and skill for many years.

Gerry was a true outdoorsman who found joy in yo-yo fishing and deer hunting — pursuits that brought him both peace and adventure. Whether casting a line or tracking through the woods, he was always at home in nature.

A jokester at heart, Gerry had a sharp wit and a gift for making people laugh. His playful spirit was matched only by the deep love he had for his family. He never missed a chance to support, tease, or celebrate those he loved.

Visitation for Mr. McGuire will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

He is survived by one step-daughter, Darlene Smothers of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three step-sons, David Thrasher of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Mike Thrasher of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Todd Thrasher of Huntingdon, Tennessee; one  brother, Terry McGuire of Dyersburg, Tennessee,  one sister, Lori Ann McGuire Esparza of Dyersburg, Tennessee and he was  "Papa" to two grandchildren, Melanie Haynes and Jeremy Haynie; four great-grandchildren, Preston Manley, Catie Manley, Reanna Young and Andrea Young and two great-great-grandchildren, Ava Murphy and Justin Young with another great-great-granddaughter to join the family in November.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Dunahoo McGuire.
