George Robert Roser, 86, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Signature Health in Ridgely, Tennessee.
Born Monday, October 1, 1934 in Lawrence, Kansas, he was the son of the late George Henry Roser and the late Mable Arnold Hoff. He retired from the United States Marine Crop with the Rank of Captain in 1974. After proudly serving his country he returned to establish Reelfoot Marine. Mr. Roser was a former Mason.
Funeral services for Mr. Roser will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Neal Chatham. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of sixty-five years, Shirley Moore Roser of Newbern, Tennessee; two sons, Robert Phillip Roser (Sheila) of RoEllen, Tennessee and Timothy Lee Roser of Newbern, Tennessee; one sister, Carol Colbert of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; three grandchildren, Brandon Roser (Brianna), Krista Roser and Andrew Roser and three great-grandchildren, Cooper Roser, Eli Roser and Cooper Atkins..
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Lane.
Honoring Mr. Roser as pallbearers will be Brandon Roser, Cooper Roser, David Powell, Jerry Craig, Jimmy Bailey and James Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Choc Buchannon, Preston Heathcott, John Hughen and Larry Roberts.
