Gary Russell Hastings, 76, of RoEllen, Tennessee died on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Cades Center Assisted Living in Jackson, Tennessee.
Born Friday, October 20, 1944 in Finley, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Prince Edward Hastings and the late Opal White Hastings. Mr. Hastings served the City of Dyersburg as a fireman for thirty-two years and retired from farming after forty years. He was a member of the Independent Free Holiness Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Memorial services for Mr. Hastings will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 14, 2021 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Billy Brooks and Rev. Calvin Smith. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation for Mr. Hastings will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Marty Hastings (Kim) of Humboldt, Tennessee; one daughter, Tracy Elaine Hastings of Carmel, Indiana and five grandchildren, Garrett Hastings, Elizabeth Brazda, David Brazda, A. J. Hastings and Christopher Brazda.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Ed Hastings and Hal Travis Hastings.
