Gary Lee Rogers Obituary

Gary Lee Rogers, 58, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at his residence.

Born Sunday, July 23, 1967, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Jimmy Don Rogers and Virginia Sue Newman Burns.

Gary was a former employee of Forcum-Lannom Contractors, where he worked many years and built lifelong friendships along the way. He was a faithful member of Our Little Country Church. He believed in living life simply and gratefully, always appreciating the blessings God placed in front of him. He found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved to fish and earned the affectionate nickname “the fish whisperer” from his daughter, for always having the ability to always find the fish. He also enjoyed deer hunting, pitching washers and growing vegetables in his garden and sharing them with is family and friends. Gary was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide Football team. He was known for his down-to-earth nature, gentle spirit, and love for simple pleasures.

Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Royce McGuire. Interment will follow in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Amber Nicole Rogers of Friendship, Tennessee; one son, Tyler Anthony Max of Memphis, Tennessee, his mother, Virginia Sue Newman Burns of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sisters, Lori Ann Rogers (Tad Holden) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Gina Kay Canada of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one niece, Megan Holden and he was "Paw" to his six grandchildren, Madilyn Richards, Tanner Richards, Elcee Cupples, Jaelynn Max, Easton Max and Preslee Max.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Don Rogers.

Honoring Mr. Rogers as pallbearers will be Alex Scott, Randy Ashley, Tad Holden, Johnny Anderson, Mac Eison and Jeff Ingram. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Martin and Gerald Canada.
