Garry Marlon Cantrell, 81, of Ridgely, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born, Saturday, July 7, 1943, in Lake County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Lawrence Cantrell and the late Dorothy Norene Strain Cantrell. Over the years, he enjoyed working on the farm with his father, those times were incredibly special. Mr. Cantrell was a truck driver, worked for Northwest Transportation and was retired from Northwest Correction Facility after thirty years of service. He genuinely loved his family and enjoyed the times that they shared. In his spare time, he enjoyed deer hunting, duck hunting and gardening.
Cremation services are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years of marriage Mary B. Cantrell of Ridgely, Tennessee; one daughter, Angelina "Angie" Chadwick (Michael McCoy) of Ridgeley, Tennessee; one stepdaughter, Jennifer M. Spence Swift (Tyrone) of Ridgely, Tennessee; two stepsons, Jeffrey Lynn Spence of Paris, Tennessee and Elmer Spence of Lexington, Tennessee; two grandsons that he was raising and considered as his own; Trevor T. Swift of Ridgely, Tennessee and Ashton T. Swift of Ridgely, Tennessee and he was "Papa" to his two grandchildren, Brittney Chadwick of Ridgely, Tennessee and Johnathon Chadwick of Ridgely, Tennessee; and his four great grandchildren McKenzie Chadwick, Collin Nelson, Arianna Nelson, and King Chadwick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Cantrell.
