Gail Boone, 73, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Okeena Health and Rehabilitation Center of Dyersburg in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born on January 31, 1952, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lincoln Childress and Billie Jean Sorrell Childress.
Gail was the former manager of Blockbuster Video—a job she enjoyed and where she made many friendships over the years. She later retired from Acceptance Insurance Company. Gail often described herself as a "homebody", she enjoyed her time spent at home and found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Each morning, Gail started her day with what she lovingly called her “morning things”—a quiet routine that always began with a good cup of coffee and time spent on her laptop, catching up on the latest news, especially on Twitter. She was a devoted fan of reality TV, and her favorite shows included Big Brother and The Challenge, which she rarely missed.
Above all else, Gail treasured her role as a grandmother. She deeply loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished every moment they spent together. Her face would light up with pride and joy anytime she spoke of them.
Cremation services for Ms. Boone are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Angie Boone of Dyersburg, Tennessee; her mother, Billie Jean Sorrell Childress of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Debbie Lynn Copeland of Phoenix, Arizona and she was "Nana" to her three children, Lauren Elizabeth Cordova, Brandon Calhoun Kilzer and Amanda Gayle Kilzer and her two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Cordova and Harper Cordova.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Jean Nadeau.
