Franklin Delano Cathey

Franklin Delano Cathey, 87, of RoEllen, Tennessee died on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at his residence in RoEllen, Tennessee.

Born Monday, July 24, 1933 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Major Montgomery Cathey and the late Lacie Mae Rivers Cathey. He was a retired farmer, member of Volunteer Conservation Club in RoEllen, Tennessee and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Graveside services for Mr. Cathey will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Bro. Jeff Hall. Visitation for Mr. Cathey will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Jo Griffin Cathey of RoEllen, Tennessee; one son, Richard Montgomery Cathey (Denise) of  the Viar Community, Tennessee; one daughter, Tina Cathey Jones of RoEllen, Tennessee; his twin brother, George Lee Cathey of Dyersburg, Tennessee and two grandchildren, Trevor Jones and Garrett Cathey.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six sisters, Louetta Brown, Johnnie Sue Vickers, Marie Spain, Winonna Wherry, Laverne McRee and Lorene Seratt and two brothers, Edsel Cathey and Larry Cathey.

Honoring Mr. Cathey as pallbearers will Trevor Jones, Garrett Cathey, Gary Box, Drake Box, Wally Childress and Mike Theilacker.
