Frances Pearlina Moreno, 78, died on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, where she had resided for the past few months. Frances was born on January 14, 1947, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to the late Houston Veteto and the late Zepha Cobb Bell Veteto Guthrie. She spent the majority of her life in Jonesboro, before relocating to Dyersburg to live with her beloved brother and sister-in-law, due to health concerns. Their love and care brought her great comfort during her final months.
Frances was a dedicated and hardworking woman, who spent many years as a restaurant employee, earning the respect and friendship of both her colleagues and customers. Outside of work, she found joy in her hobbies, which included crocheting, sewing and cooking delicious meals,
She will be remembered for her kind heart and unwavering strength.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbie Hollingsworth of Jonesboro, Arkansas: two brothers, Houston Veteto (Brenda) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Bruce Guthrie of Florida, two sisters, Darlene Kersey (Doug) of Floridia and Hazel Guthrie of Florida and two grandchildren, Brey and Bree.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Robinson and Pat Roden.
