Flora Jane Simpson, 77, of Jackson, Tennessee died on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Wellstar Cobb Medical Center in Austell, Georgia.
Born Tuesday, December 30, 1947, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Simpson and the late Zelma Geneva Perigen Simpson.
Ms. Simpson was a dedicated contract manager for a national temporary labor company where she supervised three hundred forty employees.
Some of her fondest childhood moments included savoring her mama’s homemade biscuits, listening to her dad play the harmonica, and spending precious time with family. She especially treasured family trips to Michigan, where she participated in youth violin concerts and memorized Psalm 23 at the age of nine.
She had a deep appreciation for nature and creativity, enjoying fishing, camping, sketching, embroidery, gardening, sewing, and cooking. She also found joy in playing games with family and friends. A devoted leader and volunteer, she served as a Girl Scout Leader and Town chairman for the City of Newbern Girl Scouts. She was also an instructor for the American Red Cross, teaching Multi-Media First Aid and CPR, and earning numerous certificates for job-related courses.
Her favorite color was blue, and her greatest joys in life were the births of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nothing brought a smile to her face more than warm hugs, the laughter of children playing, and precious moments with her family. She held her faith close to her heart, cherishing her personal time with God, and she found constant companionship in her beloved dog, Toby.
Graveside services for Mrs. Simpson will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Yorkville Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Bro. Harold Davis. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Brian Wayne Canada (Michelle) of Jackson, Tennessee; two daughters, Pamela Dawn Hartline (Gina) of Mableton, Georgia, and Kathy Lynn Sewell of Trenton, Tennessee; one brother, Timothy Lynn Simpson of Newbern, Tennessee; two sisters, Carol Ann Simpson of Paris, Tennessee and Debra Kay (Bobo) Simpson of Trenton, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one George Wayne Simpson, and one sister, Linda Lavern Simpson.
