Eva Jane Harness Cribbs, 82, of Dyersburg, Tennessee (formerly of Eustis, Florida), passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Born in Dyersburg on September 9, 1943, Eva was the beloved daughter of the late Theo and Margaret Lock Harness. A devoted hospice nurse, she brought comfort and compassion to many during her career. Eva was a proud member of the American Business Women’s Association and the Garden Club. She found joy in cooking, traveling, and sipping champagne—but above all, she cherished her family. Eva’s legacy of love, laughter, and grace will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, John Thomas Cribbs (Sherri Poston) and Jennifer Cribbs O’Sullivan (Timothy), both of Dyersburg; her grandson, John Eric Kahl; her brothers, Theo and George Harness; and her sisters, Cherry Lynn Harness King and Judy Harness Knox and many loving nieces and nephews.
Cremation services are under the care of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held at a later date.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents.
The family asks that any memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959 or the Dyer County Community Cancer Fund, 620 Mall Blvd, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024.
