Eugene Alexander Roddy, 94, of Yucaipa, California, formerly of Lane, Tennessee died on Monday, November 9, 2020, at his residence in Yucaipa, California .
Born Monday, September 6, 1926 in Lane, Tennessee, a place he loved and always considered home, regardless of where he lived. He was the son of the late Avery W. Roddy and the late Bonnie Lee Wade Roddy. After he received a deferment from the United States Army,because of his father's failing health, he remained at home to oversee the family farm. His love of farming remained with him until his death. He was a devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as Elder for many years and served on the Board of Directors for the Zion Cemetery Association.
Graveside services for Mr. Roddy will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Zion Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Mr. David Roddy and Mr. Harold Roddy. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of seventy years, Mildred Shanklin Roddy of Yucaipa, California; one son, David Eugene Roddy of Waverly, Ohio; two daughters, Fairra Roddy Rustad of Yucaipa, California and Sarah Roddy Giang of Yucaipa, California; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Roddy, James Roddy and A. W. Roddy, Jr. and one sister, Maurine Lippard.
