Edward Duane Tidwell, 94, of Trimble, Tennessee, died on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Harmony Hill Assisted Living in Huntingdon, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, September 9, 1931, in Cuba, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Rudolph Graham Tidwell and the late Amanda Rankin Tidwell.
Mr. Tidwell spent many years working as a Surveyor for the City of Memphis, where he was respected for his dedication, strong work ethic, and the pride he took in his work. Through the years, he earned the admiration of his coworkers and all who knew him for his reliability and commitment.
In his spare time, Mr. Tidwell enjoyed traveling and making memories with his beloved wife through their shared love of RV camping. Together, they traveled across the country, forming lasting friendships along the way and enjoying the beauty and adventure of seeing new places. Those journeys brought him much happiness and many cherished memories.
Funeral services for Mr. Tidwell will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Dr. Rick Isbell and Rev. Tim Crossno. Interment will be held in Memphis Memory Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM both at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home
He is survived by this wife of twenty-one years, Paula Cook Sykes Tidwell of Trimble, Tennessee; one son, Danny Duane Tidwell (Terry Bivdlebough) of Gold Bar, Washington; two grandsons, Thaddeus Tidwell and Jeremy Tidwell: three step-sons, David R. Sykes of Huntingdon, Tennessee, Nathan Sykes(Karri) of Liberty Kentucky and Bryan Sykes(Janet) of Trimble, Tennessee; one step-daughter, Joy Crossno(Tim) of Cleburne, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Claudia "Crickett" Tidwell and son Daryl Tidwell: one brother, Joseph Graham and one sister Peggy Tabeling.
Honoring Mr. Tidwell as pallbearers will be Thomas Sykes, Isaac Sykes, Jacob Sykes, Frankie Roberson, George Sykes, and Luke Sykes.
