Edward "Baby"Hollis Bevis Obituary

Edward "Baby" Hollis Bevis, 91 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Monday, November 11, 1929 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Bee Bevis and the late Ophelia Woodley  Bevis. Mr. Bevis was a businessman, farmer and former electrical inspector for the State of Tennessee.  He was the oldest male member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.

Graveside services for Mr. Bevis will be 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Officiating this service will be Rev. Dan Tilly and Pastor David Richards. Visitation for Mr. Bevis will be Thursday from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Mike Bevis of Dyersburg, Tennessee,  Bruce Bevis (Valerie) of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Sherry Agee of Newbern, Tennessee; four step-children, Linda Duke of  Munford, Tennessee, Cindy McCann of Humboldt, Tennessee, Julie Bakr of Humboldt, Tennessee and Earl Burton of Newbern, Tennessee; one  brother, Jimmy Bevis of Lebanon, Tennessee; one sister, JoAnn Qualls of Newbern, Tennessee, six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Bevis; one step-daughter, Martha Mancell; two brothers, M. C. Bevis and Gentry Bevis and three sisters, Ida Mae Simpson, Frances Haraway and Bette Logan and a son-in-law, Steve Agee.

Honoring Mr. Bevis as pallbearers will be Michael Bevis, Jr., Marty Frye, Mike Moore, Clayton Thaxton, Steven Agee and Jacob Burr.

The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 225 Rehoboth Church Road, Newbern, Tennessee 38059.
