Edd Baker Pickens

Edd Baker Pickens, 83, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Friday, March 10, 2023, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, January 27, 1940, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Porter Pickens and the late Katherine Tatum Pickens. Mr. Pickens was a commercial and residential contractor and retired owner of Pickens Construction.  He had a love for music, he especially enjoyed playing the drums and was a member of many different bands through the years.  The times that he enjoyed the most were those spent with his family.

A celebration of life visitation for Mr. Pickens will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-five years, Barbara Raines Pickens of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three daughters, Kelly Pickens Lusk of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Kacey Pickens Bain of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Kourtney Pickens Williams (Steven) of Jackson, Tennessee; he was "PePaw" to his four grandchildren, Anna Claire Perera (Chat), Lawrence Edward Lusk, III, Mimi Katherine Lusk and Bailey Elizabeth Bain and one great-grandchild, his namesake, Baker Elizabeth Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Porter Pickens, Jr., and one sister, Dorothy Ellen Rogers.

The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the Dyersburg-Dyer County Humane Society, P. O. Box # 223, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024.
