Dr. John Edd Moore

Dr. John Edd Moore, 80, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, February 22, 1941 in Newbern, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Eddie Moore and the late Virgie Hughley Moore.  Dr. Moore was the Vice President of Technology at Dyersburg State Community College.  He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee and a Gideon.

A celebration of life service for Dr. Moore will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Dr. Cory D. Williams and Rev. Annetta Camp. Committal services will be held at a later date.  Visitation for Dr. Moore will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, of sixty years, Jeanette Stout Moore of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Cali Acuff (Bill) of Columbia, Tennessee one sister, Sue Stewart of Roanoke, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Carla Moore of Newbern, Tennessee and three grandchildren, Nathan Moore (Olivia), Clara Acuff and Luke Acuff.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jason Terrill "Terry" Moore.

The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the landscaping project at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2280 Parr Avenue, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024.
