Dorothy Willetta Dennison Obituary

Dorothy Willetta Dennison, 86, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, October 6, 1934 in Trimble, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Otis McManus and the late Emily Carmen Peal  Newell. She, and her husband, W. F. "Tom" Dennison, owned and operated Dennison's Sporting Goods for many years.  Mrs. Dennison was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Graveside services for Mrs. Dennison will be held at 1;00 PM on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Phillip Senn. Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Nancy Maupin (Jerry) of Newbern, Tennessee and Michele McClain (Ron) of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother, Johnny Newell of Red Bay, Alabama; one sister, Cathy Frost of Obion, Tennessee; she was "Granny" to seven grandchildren, Barry Maupin, Lyndsay Maupin, Thomas Dennison, Emilee Dennison, Rickey Dennison, II., Deven McClain and Grayson McClain and nine great-grandchildren, Cain Johnson (Shelby), Jaycob Johnson, Pollyanna Dennison, Morgan Dennison, Ava Sanders, Lucy Dennison, Olivia McClain, William Maupin and Walynn Maupin.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, W. F. "Tom" Dennison; four sons, Tommy Dennison, Rickey Dennison, Jeff Dennison and Dennis Dennison; one grand-daughter, Carrie Dennison;  one brother, James Otis McManus and one sister, Martha Ann Whaley.

Honoring their "Granny" as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
