Dorothy V. Ray

Dorothy V. Ray, 86, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Monday, March 23, 2020, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.

Born, August 14, 1933, in Ridgely, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the later Bonnie Upchurch and the late Helen Powell Upchurch. Mrs. Ray was a home-maker and member of the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.

Given current national conditions and the family's concern for the health and well-being of others, private graveside services for Mrs. Ray will be held Thursday at Church Grove Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Rev. Charles Halliburton.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Pamela Ray of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Donna Canaday (David) of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and Vickie Davis of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one son, Jerry Davis of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, Tommy "Tootsie" Upchurch of East Prairie, Missouri; one sister, Mildred Miller of Shawnee, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three daughters, Doris Chandler, Carolyn Anderson and Debra Davis; three sons, Paul B. Ray, Charles Ray and Tommy Davis; two brothers, Dwight Upchurch and Joe Upchurch and one sister, Mary Helen Barker.
