Dorothy Nell Dean, 89 of Ridgely, Tennessee died on Friday, May 28, 2021, at her residence in Ridgely, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, March 17, 1932 in Lake County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ulis Ward and the late Lula Lemmons Ward. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who always enjoyed being with her family. She enjoyed fishing and looking at old barns. Mrs. Dean was a member of the River of Life Church in Ridgely, Tennessee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dean will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the River of Life Church in Ridgely, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Mr. Dennis Dean, Rev. Joe Watson and Rev.David Prince. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the River of Life Church in Ridgely, Tennessee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Dennis Dean (Deborah) of Obion, Tennessee, Ricky Dean (Lorie) of Marine City, Michigan and Ronnie Dean (Briton) of Tiptonville, Tennessee; four daughters, Linda Paris (George) of Tiptonville, Tennessee, Nelda Flowers of Troy, Tennessee, Donna Worley (Doug) of Tiptonville, Tennessee and Kim Rose (Doug) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three sisters, Joyce Floyd of Flagstaff, Arizona, Brenda Prince (David) of Newbern, Tennessee and Barbara Heidel (James) of Wartburg, Tennessee and she was "Granny" to her seventeen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Woodrow "Woody" Dean; two brothers, Roy Ward and Aaron Ward, and two sisters, Joe Ruth Smith and Peggy Watson.
Honoring Mrs. Dean as pallbearers will be Ashton Eddlemon, Zack Dean, Josh Choate, Rex Barnes, Matthew Weaver, Garrett Matheny, Chris Paris and Donald Ward.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
