Dorothy Christine McCurdy

Dorothy Christine  Blair McCurdy, 89, of Newbern, Tennessee, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Harborview Nursing Home in Dyersburg, Tennessee. 

Born on Monday, July 20, 1931 in Lake County,  to the late Claude Connell and the late Maude  Connell. She was a homemaker and member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Senn and Rev. Carman Dennison  officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery-Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.  Due to the current  pandemic conditions and the family's concern for the health and welfare of others, you are asked to wear a mask for the visitation and services of Dorothy Christine Blair McCurdy.

She is survived by three sons: Eddie Blair (Carol) of Newbern, Tennessee, Stanley Blair (Thersea) of Miston, Tennessee, Terry Blair, of Newbern, Tennessee; and eight surviving grandchildren: Michael Shane Blair, Christy Hopkins, Bryan Blair,  Heather St. Romain, Danielle Richman,  Paul Blair,  Aimee Huggins and Perry Permenter.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husbands James M. Blair and Connie Ray McCurdy ; one son: Stevie Lee Blair, three deceased brothers: William Connell, Jessie Connell and Freddie Connell.

Honoring Mrs. Christine by serving as pallbearers will be Perry Permenter, Zac Blair, Gunner Hopkins, Jeff Hopkins, Jesse Muse and Steve Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Shane Blair, Timmy Gantt and Cloyd Ash.

The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Fairview Baptist Church Steeple Fund, 4756 Biffle Road, Newbern, Tennessee 38059.
