Dorothy Barham

Dorothy Barham, 84, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at AHC of Dyersburg in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Friday, December 18, 1936 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Edward Cherry Poteet and the late Oma Jewell Akin Poteet. She was a retired employee of  Methodist Hospital in Dyersburg, where she worked in the Dietary Department for many years. Mrs. Barham was a member of  the Dyersburg, First Assembly of God Church.

Graveside services for Mrs. Barham will be held 11:30 A.M. on  Monday, April 19, 2021 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Officiating this service will be Mr. Shane Allen, Visitation for Mrs. Barham will be be held Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Cheri Baxter (Steve) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Shelia Cravens (Bobby) of Newbern, Tennessee; she was "Nanny" to her six grandchildren, Leigh Ann Avery (Jordan), Bobbie Ann Cravens, James Michael White, Jessica Barham (Rey), Jeremy Barham and Destiney Tidwell (Kevin) and eighteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis Barham; one daughter, Joyce Barham and one grand-daughter, Jennifer Baxter Watson.

Honoring Mrs. Barham as pallbearers will be Paul Anderson, James Michael White, Jeremy Barham, Landon Barham, Kevin Tidwell and Rey Tijerina. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Fisk, Bobby Cravens and Jordan Avery.
