Doris Jean (Jeanie) Weaver

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Jean (Jeanie) Weaver of Fort Myers, FL on the evening of August 23, 2024 at
the age of 83. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin & a caring friend to many. At the time of her death, she was
being lovingly cared for by Vitas Solaris Hospice in Naples, FL.

Born in Chattanooga, TN on August 3, 1941, Jeanie was the daughter of the late Francis (Frank) C. Perot & the late Helen I.
(Robison) Perot. She was raised in Newbern (Dyer Co), TN. A graduate of Newbern High School, she studied business
administration at the University of TN at Martin. She met & married the love of her life, Jerry Leon Weaver in 1966, who sadly
passed way too soon in 1988. She was also just getting over another great loss, when her beloved 18 yr old fur baby, Scooter
passed away 7 weeks earlier.

Jeanie started her career in the offices of Newbern Implement Company. Later she became the commissary manager of Frank’s
Vending Service, which later merged with Servomation Corporation. She then became office manager for her husband’s business,
Weaver Home Repair.

Jeanie spent her spare time involved in various hobbies & civic activities. She was a voracious reader & crafter. Taking after her
mother, she practiced her artistic flair through art, ceramics, embroidery, knitting, quilting & every form of crafting imaginable. She
stayed active in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, The Newbern Garden Club, The Book Club, The Ceramics Group. She was also a Girl
Scout Troop Leader, & taught PRE classes at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dyersburg. She loved to travel & did so extensively
until her mobility issues slowed her down. For decades she struggled healthwise. Yet she accepted each new diagnosis gracefully,
determined to fight her way through them all.

Jeanie is survived by her son, Jerry Christopher Weaver & wife Rachelle, & her daughter, Anna Perot Weaver Brasfield & husband
Wesley (all of Newbern); grandchildren Ashley Nicole (Nikki) Weaver of Drummonds, TN, Aaliyah Brasfield, & Wesley Alan Brasfield,
Jr. both of Newbern; her sister, Becky Perot Palmer of Naples, FL; her cousin, Nancy Heathcott White of Ripley, TN; & her dearest
friend, Teresa Charest of Halls, TN.

There will be a graveside service (simple as per her wishes) at Newbern’s Fairview Cemetery on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 2pm.
Father Patrick Hirtz of Holy Angels will officiate. Cremation by Legacy Options (Bonita Springs, FL). Burial arrangements by
Johnson-Williams Funeral Home of Newbern, TN.
