Donna Deneen Parson

Donna Deneen Parson, 61, of Sturgis, South Dakota, formerly of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Monument Health in Rapid City, South Dakota, surrounded by her family.

Born Saturday, August 22, 1964, in Cicero, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Donald Dwayne Tippit and the late Melba Joan Collier Tippit. 

Donna was known for her hardworking spirit, dedication, and the love she poured into everything she did. For many years, she faithfully served as the manager of the Country Mart Bakery, where she became well known for her talent, kindness, and commitment to her work. Baking was more than a job to Donna — it was one of her greatest joys. She especially loved creating specialty cakes, using her creativity and care to make life’s celebrations a little sweeter for others.

Above all else, Donna was devoted to her family. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved and held close the many memories they shared together through the years. Donna’s love for her family was evident in all she did.

She will be remembered for her caring heart, strong work ethic, warm spirit, and the happiness she brought to so many lives. 

Graveside services for Donna will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Poplar  Grove C. P. Church Cemetery located at 289 Church Road in Halls, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Bro. Danny O'Guinn. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Wilson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; son, Walter Parson, Jr. (Abigail) of Sturgis, South Dakota; sister, Amanda Hollingsworth (Chad) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and "Granma Donna" to her grandchildren, Hayden, Jayce, Charli, Bailey, Colton and Augusta.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Parson and one brother, David Tippitt.

Honoring Mrs. Parson as pallbearers will be Trevor Reasons, Sean Schoohover, Jeremy Rogers, Jason Markham and Hayden Rogers. Honorary pallbearer will be Cotton Brewer.
