Deborah Jane Burkeen, 70, of Newbern, Tennessee, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Born on Thursday, May 10, 1956, in Dyer County, Tennessee, Deborah was the daughter of Bonnie Dillard Johnson and the late Betty Hopper Johnson.
Deborah was a devoted homemaker who found her greatest joy in caring for and spending time with her family. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and shared a special bond with her beloved companion, Jaden. Known affectionately as “Meme,” she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and created many cherished memories with those she loved most.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of thirty years, Billy W. Burkeen of Newbern, Tennessee; one son, Chad Binkley and wife, Christy, of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Autumn LeAnn Morgan of Union City, Tennessee; her father, Bonnie Dillard Johnson; of Union City, Tennessee and one sister, Cindy Flat of Union City, Tennessee.
Deborah was the proud grandmother of Gage Morgan, Eli Morgan, Lucas Morgan, and Reagan Binkley, all of whom lovingly knew her as “Meme.”
