David Cavaness

David  Cavaness, 70, of Trenton, Tennessee died on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, September 2, 1951 in Humboldt, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Billy Frank Cavaness (Dorothy Baker Cavaness) and the late Joyce Alford Cavaness Wilson (Charles Wilson). Mr. Cavaness was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the State of Tennessee Highway Department where he worked for thirty-two years.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 1279 of Trenton, Tennessee and an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Graveside services for Mr. Cavaness will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Davidson Chapel Cemetery near Trenton, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Corey R. Cummings and Mrs. Dana Welch.  Visitation for Mr. Cavaness will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM on Sunday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Cavaness of  Trenton, Tennessee; three sons, Robert Cavaness of Nashville, Tennessee, John Cavaness (Tanna) of Gadsen, Tennessee and Matt Cavaness (Megan) of Trenton, Tennessee; one daughter, Dana Welch (Mike) of Yorkville, Tennessee and he was "Granddaddy" to his seven grandchildren, Maddie Stephens (Charleston), Rebecca Welch, Lane Cavaness, Jake Cavaness, Davy Cavaness, Will Cavaness and Bryndle Cavaness.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Cavaness.

Honoring Mr. Cavaness as pallbearers will be Randal Moore, Elliott Bauer, Matt Cavaness, Carl Campbell, Wesley Gordon and Wayne Whitwell.
