Coy Lynn McDonald, 85, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.
Born Sunday, August 9, 1936, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Will Jones "Bill" McDonald and Olgie Dennison McDonald. Mr. McDonald was a retired Field Enumerator Supervisor for the USDA. He was also a farmer and owner/operator of Old McDonald Farms. Mr. McDonald was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Kenton, Tennessee. He was a Baptist deacon for over fifty years.
Funeral services for Mr. McDonald will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 29, 2022, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Bro. Michael Julian and Bro.Russell Ragsdale. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation for Mr. McDonald will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over sixty-five years, Linda McDonald of Newbern, Tennessee; five sons, Tommy Lynn McDonald ( LonNita) of Springville, Tennessee, William Lee McDonald (Mary) of Newbern, Tennessee, Justin Allen McDonald of Newbern, Tennessee, Johnathan Kyle McDonald of Newbern, Tennessee and Stacy Lyle McDonald (Steffany) of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Patricia Lynnice McDonald of Newbern, Tennessee; his son by choice, Steve Hill of Judsonia, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Ladana Rowell (Michael), Josh McDonald, Lindsey Ennis, Brittany Baker (Jeff), Brett McDonald (Melissa), and Haley McDonald and eight great grandchildren, Tucker Rowell, Addie Rowell, Patrick Duffala, Oakley Baker, Lucas Ennis, Imogen Lynn McDonald, Kylee McDonald, and William McDonald.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Lynn McDonald and his brother, Larry McDonald
Honoring Mr. McDonald as pallbearers will be Tim Windle, Tucker Rowell, Craig Creswell, Cain Johnson, David Ross, and Richard Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Monica McDonald, Mickey Little, Steve McDonald, Billy McDonald, and the Macedonia Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.
