Cheryl McClain Baucom

Cheryl McClain Baucom, 66, of Minnick, Tennessee died on Monday, September 16, 2024, at her residence in Minnick, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, May 27, 1958, in Waukegan, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late James Edward McClain, Sr. and the late Dolores Ruth Throssel McClain. Mrs. Baucom was a former city carrier for the United States Post Office in Dyersburg, Tennessee. She was a devoted member of the Order of Confederate Rose and the Newbern Moose Lodge.

Funeral services for Mrs. Baucom will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jim Ennis. Interment will follow at Elbridge Cemetery in the Elbridge, Tennessee. Visitation for Mrs. Baucom will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Shawn Rainey (Tyrenia) of Minnick, Tennessee and Casey Rainey (Brad Jackson) of San Francisco, California; one brother, James Edward McClain, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; she was "Grammie" to her two grandchildren. Erica Rainey and James Rainey; two step-grandchildren, Emily Pyskacek and Abbey Pyskacek and her faithful companion, Tater Tot.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Harris Baucom and brother, Kenneth Dolton McClain.

Honoring Mrs. Baucom as pallbearers will be Eric Wells, Kurtiss Lamb, Charlie Clark, Brandon Garner, Jarid Burton and Preston Kapture. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Tennessee Society of the Order of Confederate Rose.

The family ask that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Riders of Dyersburg, % Phillip and Erin Turner, 920 Dean Drive, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024.
