Charles Springer Staggs

Charles Springer Staggs, 86, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at his residence in Halls, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, August 18, 1938, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Obie Staggs and the late Mary Lee Brown Staggs. He was a former manager at Mas Verde in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.  Mr. Staggs was a devoted member and deacon of the Independent Free Holiness Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
 

Graveside services for Mr. Staggs will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating the service will be Bro. Calvin Smith. Visitation for Mr. Staggs will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, Tennessee.

 He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Marlene Faye Bizzle Staggs of Halls, Tennessee; two sons, Roger Staggs (Rebekah) of Ripley, Tennessee and Charles Springer Staggs, Jr. of Colorado; two step-sons, Chuck Farley of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Timothy Farley of Dyersburg, Tennessee;  two daughters, Pamela Sallee of Dresden, Tennessee and Vonda Mathenia (Ricky) of Finger, Tennessee, five brothers, Roy Staggs (Wanda Gail)  of Leoma, Tennessee, Clyde Staggs of Sidonia, Tennessee, Paul Staggs (Rhonda) of Amity, Arkansas, Jimmy Staggs of Paragould, Arkansas and Robert Wesley Staggs of Dresden, Tennessee and he was "Grand-Daddy" and "Pawpa" to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Staggs and Obie Staggs, Jr., one sister, Iva Mae Staggs and asister-in-law, Paula Ann Staggs.

Honoring Mr. Staggs as pallbearers will be Addison Kirk, Dustin Walls, Ryan Staggs, Charles Stages, III, Christopher Farley, and Timothy Farley.
