Charles Lynn Box, 64, of Ridgely, Tennessee, died on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, February 7, 1962, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charles Edward Box and the late Doris Jean Box.
Charles was a loving father, a proud grandpa, and a true friend to so many. He spent many years working as a dedicated member of The Local 17 Pipe Insulators, where he was respected not only for his hard work, but for his toughness, loyalty, and the friendships he built along the way.
He was the kind of man who could be strong and stubborn, yet incredibly kind and caring. He had a great sense of humor and could always make people laugh, even in difficult times. Above all, he loved his family deeply.
Some of his happiest moments were spent fishing—enjoying the quiet, the water, and the simple peace it brought him. But nothing meant more to him than being surrounded by his family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and time together.
He will be remembered for his strength, his humor, his big heart, and the love he gave so freely. The lessons he taught and the memories he created will live on through all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Mr. Box will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Mickey Hanks. Interment will follow in Elbridge Cemetery in Elbridge, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He was a loving father to his three daughters, Michelle Mystek (Steven) of Tinley Park, Illinois, Katie Box of Lemont, Illinois and Amy Box of Orland Park, Illinois and proud Grandpa to his two grandchildren, Camden Mystek and Declan Mystek. He also leaves one uncle, Jimmy Williams (Faye) of Obion, Tennessee; two aunts, Peggy Watkins (William) of Ridgely, Tennessee and Judy Turnbo of Dyersburg, Tennessee and a host of extended family members and friends that he loved dearly.
