Cecil "Junior" Allen Obituary

Cecil "Junior" Allen, 86 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, July 12, 1933 in Lake County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late John Cecil Allen and the late Georgia Adell Griffin Allen. He was a retired employee of Colonial Rubber and a former member of the Tennessee National Guard.

Graveside services for Mr. Allen will be 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Bro. Gene Stafford. Visitation for Mr. Allen will be held Thursday from 11:00 AM until 12:40 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Cherry Marie Hall Allen, who he married on July 27, 1953, of Newbern, Tennessee; three daughters, Velda Marie Allen Booker (Charles) of Newbern, Tennessee, Cherry June Allen Garrison (Rick) of Newbern, Tennessee and Barbara Marie Allen Haley (Wes) of Friendship, Tennessee; two brothers, Grady Allen and Norman Allen both of Union City, Tennessee; one sister, Hilda Fay Allen Curtis of Washington, DC; seven grandchildren, Velda May Booker, Zelda May Booker, April Marie Booker, Paul Allen Booker, Amy Marie Garrison Jackson, Brandon Lynn Preslar and Daniel Edward Garrison; eight great-grandchildren, Hali Marie Allmon, Kura Amee' Booker, Blake Everett Allmon, Charles Allen Booker, Audrina Clair Booker , Briley Kate Garrison and Amelia Cheyenne Booker and over one hundred nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Allen and Joseph "Joe" Allen.

Honoring Mr. Allen as pallbearers will be Michael Hall, Marshall Hall, Cane Wilson, Grady Allen, Paul Booker, Daniel Garrison and Noel Allen.
