Capt. Larry G. Bell (Retired), 76, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Thursday, March 28, 1946, in Decatur County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Louis Elvis Bell and the late Willie Tucker Bell. Captain Bell was involved in law enforcement for forty-three years. During that time, he worked for the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the City of Dyersburg Police Department. He spent his last sixteen years in law enforcement employed by the Dyer County Sheriff's Department, before retiring in 2010, Capt. Bell attended Fort Hudson Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

A celebration of life service for Capt. Bell will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2022, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Billy Brooks. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-eight years, Linda Tubbs Bell of Dyersburg, Tennessee; his son of choice, Joe Markham (Dana) of Ft. Lauderdale, Flordia and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Hedgepath.

Honoring Capt. Bell as pallbearer will be Joe Markham.

The family ask that memorial contributions be directed to the charity of donor's choice.
