Burvil Dean Stracner, 95, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born Sunday, November 14, 1926, in Cleveland, Arkansas, he was the son of the late George Stracner and the late Della Summers Stracner. He was a former construction employee and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Funeral services for Mr. Stracner will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Lynn McCall. Interment will follow at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Avena Township, Illinois.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Michael Stracner (Jeri) of Carlise, Kentucky, Jeffery Stracner (Pam) of Aledo, Illinois and Stephen Stracner of Newbern, Tennessee; two daughters, Stephanie Carter of Newbern, Tennessee and Joetta Poteet of Saddle, Arkansas and fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ruth Stracner, three brothers, Calvin Stracner, Dale Stracner and Lewis Stracner and three sisters, Dorothy Mae Franklin, Norma Jean Johnson and Juanita Rankin.
